EASTON, Pa. - Head Coach Wayne Miller's second recruiting class has been ranked in the top 16 in the Mid-Atlantic Region and in the top 100 in the nation out of 272 institutions competing on the Division I level, according to Soccer Buzz.

Lafayette's 2000 recruiting class follows a 1999 class that Soccer Buzz ranked 12th in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

The Leopards are coming off a 7-9-1 mark and the eighth best turnaround in the nation in 1999. That season saw an influx of freshman talent reshape the program, and at one point, nine of 11 starters were freshmen.

Even more impressive numbers emerged for Lafayette soccer in 1999, but this time from the classroom. Lafayette was one of just 11 Division I insititutions that had both the women's and men's soccer programs achieve a 3.0 GPA or better.

Lafayette opens the season on Sept. 1 vs. Morehead State in the opening round of the Marshall University Tournament.
