Volleyball Team Falls to Loyola at Drexel Tournament

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette volleyball team was unable to bounce back from a loss earlier in the day to Drexel as they fell to Loyola 3-0 (5-15, 3-15, 3-15) in the Leopards' second match of the Asics Annual Drexel Invitational Friday.

Senior Melissa Daly (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) picked up where she left off against Drexel, leading Lafayette with 3 kills, 3 digs and a .273 attack average. Cocaptain Melissa Ommundsen (Northport, N.Y./Northport) contribued seven assists while freshman Katy Quinn (Hempstead, N.Y.) added two kills in the Leopard loss.

Carissa Kreichauf led the victorious Loyola team with seven kills and a .429 attack percentage mark. Setter Lincy Chacko chalked up 17 assists and five digs in the match.

Lafayette continues its participation in the two-day tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday against Binghamton.
