EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette volleyball team lost its opening match of the Delaware/Asics Tournament to Liberty on Friday, 3-0 (5-15, 4-15, 4-15). The Leopards were unable to overcome the Flames .408 hitting percentage in the first match of the two-day competition.

Leading the Lafayette attack was senior middle blocker Melissa Daly (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land), who had five kills in the contest. Senior co-captain and setter Melissa Ommundsen (Northport, N.Y./Northport) led the Leopards in the assist column, notching 11, and helped out on defense with four digs. Also contributing on the defensive end was fellow co-captain Michelle Calvo (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) who had five digs.

Lafayette's next match of the tournament is Saturday at 12:30 p.m. against host Delaware. Lafayette (1-9) wraps up tournament play with a 3 p.m. match versus Morgan State.
