HAMILTON, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette golf team shot a one-day total of 342 to finish in 26th place at the 2001 ECAC Fall Championships, which was held at Colgate University's par-72 Seven Oaks Golf Course. Hartford won the team title, carding a 299 for a nine-shot victory over Rider in the weather-shortened event.
Individually for Lafayette it was freshmen Josh Shepard and Jeremiah O'Neill once again leading the way. Both Leopards tied for 70th place, as Shepard carded a 42-41--83 and O'Neill finished 41-42-83.
The individual championship went to Hartford's Chris Holmes, who fired a 32-36--68 to earn a five-shot victory over Long Island's Scott Baker.
Lafayette will compete in the Stabler Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 12-13 at the Center Valley (Pa.) Club, an event hosted by Lehigh.
