DEAL, N.J. - The Lafayette golf team defeated Manhattan and lost to host Monmouth in a tri-match held at par-71, 6,300-yard Deal Country Club. The Leopards shot a 316, while Monmouth carded a 312 and Manhattan finished with a 317.

Individually for Lafayette, freshman Josh Shepard continues to record scores in the 70s with a 36-36--72 to finish one stroke off the lead. Also scoring in the 70s was sophomore Brad Rock with a 40-38--78.

Medalist honors went to Manhattan's Chris Damiano with a 36-35--71. Three members of Monmouth's squad scored in the 70s to lead its first-place effort.

Next up for the Leopards is the ECAC Fall Championships hosted by Colgate at Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton, N.Y. on Oct. 5-7.
