Leopard Golfers Finish 18th At Stabler Invitational

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette golf team shot a two-day total of 642 to finish in 18th place at the 2001 Stabler Collegiate Invitational, which was held at the par-72, 6,500-yard Center Valley Club. The team title was won by Lafayette's arch rival and hosts of the tournament, who carded a 583 for a 12-shot victory over Pennsylvania, St. Bonaventure, Temple and Princeton.

Individually for Lafayette it was freshman Josh Shepard once again leading the way. Shepard tied for 26th place overall after firing a 73-79--152.

The individual championship went to Lehigh's Bowen Osborn, who shot 69-70--139 to earn a five-shot victory over his teammate Mike Eglit and Princeton's James Milam.

Lafayette travels to Saucon Valley Country Club, site of the 1992 and 2000 U.S. Senior Open, this Wednesday, Oct. 17, for a dual match vs. Lehigh.
