Volleyball Drops League Match to American

WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.lafayette.edu) - Patriot League newcomer American was too much for the Leopards as the women's volleyball team fell to the Eagles 30-10, 30-15, 30-13 tonight in Washington, D.C.

American improved to 12-2 overall and remain undefeated in league play to post a 6-0 record with the win. The Eagles were led by Catherine Fluegman who paced the American offense with 12 kills while classmate Courtney Mulford added 26 assists and five service aces on the match.

Lafayette was led by Caroline Eshman (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) who knocked down seven kills and picked up five digs.

Freshman Kate Walkenhorst (Tulsa, Okla./Cascia Hall) added five kills while classmate Alison Radocha (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) served up seven aces on the match.

The Leopards are still looking for the right mix as they return home next week to host Lehigh on Oct. 12 at 7:00.
