EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - This coming season will be the eighth year Nick Boccagno, Matt Bourdon and Adam Holt wear uniforms for the same team. After successful high school seasons at DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland, they each made the decision to continue their academic and athletic endeavors at Lafayette.

DeMatha has earned a reputation for producing some of the most talented college basketball players in the nation in recent decades. However, Lafayette head football coach Frank Tavani is more interested in the three seniors they sent him four years ago.

Boccagno is a starting linebacker after suiting up for all 11 games for Lafayette as a junior. He returns as the Leopards leading tackler and has become a consistent performer on the Lafayette defense. At DeMatha, he earned All-Conference and All-County honors while registering seven interceptions, 105 tackles and two fumble recoveries.

Bourdon joins Boccagno as a starting linebacker and is currently second in the Patriot League with 21 tackles. At DeMatha, Bourdon served as a captain his senior year and earned All-Division and All-Conference honors, as well as receiving the team Iron Man Award and team defensive player of the year.

Holt enters the 2001 season needing 38 punts to set the all-time Lafayette record for punts in a career. He has received the starting nod as punter since arriving as a freshman and currently holds a 39.9 yards per put average.
