EASTON, Pa. - When Lafayette senior point guard and co-captain Tim Bieg went down with a torn ACL in the first half of the Leopards' victory over Navy on Feb. 11, many surrounding the three-time defending Patriot League champions thought it was a career-ending injury.
Possibly the best news for Bieg was that he suffered an isolated ligament tear with no cartilage damage. This has enabled Bieg to make a comeback, and the Patriot League Tournament has been in his sights since the injury.
Bieg started vs. Colgate yesterday in Lafayette's Senior Day, but Leopards' Head Coach Fran O'Hanlon played him just 31 seconds to prevent further injury.
Paul Sokoloski, the sports columnist from The Express-Times in Easton caught up with Bieg after the game.
