LEWISBURG, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Despite a strong fourth quarter run, the Lafayette Men's Lacrosse team fell to No. 15 Bucknell today in Lewisburg.
Sophomore Pat Lennon (Darien, Conn./Darien) put the Leopards up 1-0 in the first quarter, and ended with three goals and an assist. Midfielder Drew Stotler (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) handed out three assists on the day and now leads the team in the category with seven. Senior Morgan Battle (Princeton, N.J./The Hun School) found the back of the net twice in a 5-0 fourth quarter run by Lafayette while also adding an assist.
Goalkeeper Duncan Woodard (New Canaan, Conn./St.George's) turned in 11 saves for the Leopards, bringing his season total to 95 in just six games.
Senior Kevin Bromby (Ipswich, Mass./ Governor Dummer) turned in his 22nd goal of the season in an unassisted effort. Midfielder David Crean (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) earned his first goal of the season, while teammate Mike Fiorillo (Bayville, N.Y./Locust Valley) earned his first assist. Remaining Leopard goals were scored by sophomores Matt Prevost (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga), and Tim Derosier (Long Meadow, Mass./Long Meadow).
The Bison (6-1, 3-0) were led in scoring by sophomore Dennis Geraghty who tallied five goals and an assist.
Lafayette (3-3, 0-2) will return home to take on the Seawolves of Stony Brook in a non-conference matchup on March 28 at 3:30.
