EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The 2001 Lafayette football team concluded preseason practices with an intersquad scrimmage today at Fisher Field. The Leopards begin classes tomorrow and will start with the 4:30 p.m. practices.
Second-year head coach Frank Tavani liked the overall effort of the team following its scrimmage, noting the play of linebackers Nick Boccagno, Matt Bourdon and Adriel Linyear.
Lafayette opens its 120th season of football on Sept. 8, when the Leopards visit Towson for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The Leopards' 2001 schedule features five home contests, including Ivy Leaguers Pennsylvania and Columbia, as well as Patriot League rivals Bucknell, Colgate and Fordham.
