EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Freshman Victor Krasij (Avon, Conn./Avon) scored a goal at 79:02 to give Lafayette a 1-0 win over Niagara in men's soccer action on Saturday at Metzgar Fields.
Krasij's first collegiate goal came on asssists from junior Ted McHugh (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) and sophomore Steve Orloff (Port Washington, N.Y./Schreibner). Krasij took an Orloff chip and headed it home for the game-winner.
The Leopards outshot Niagara, 16-2, forcing Niagara goalkeeper Daniel O'Shea to make 10 saves. Lafayette keeper Jay Freedman stopped one shot for his fourth shutout of the season.
The win moves Lafayette to 4-1-1 and drops Niagara to 1-5-1. Lafayette returns to on Saturday at American, the Patriot League opener for the Leopards.
