BOSTON, Mass (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette volleyball team closed out the Harvard University New England Challenge Tournament against the host Crimson on Saturday night, losing 30-10, 30-6, 30-17.
Harvard streaked to wins in the first two games but Lafayette held tough in game three, forcing the Crimson (3-0) to work hard for the match.
Harvard senior Erin Denniston led the Crimson with a match-high 15 kills followed by Amy Dildine who added nine kills. Mindy Jellin and Kim Gould split the setting duties for Harvard with 23 and 15 assists, respectively.
Freshman Erin Brune (Pasadena, Calif./Mayfield) paced the Leopards with nine kills and a match-high 10 digs.
Lafayette (0-7) returns to play on Friday and Saturday when it competes in the Drexel Tournament.
