Volleyball Drops Season Finale At Lehigh 3-0

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette volleyball team dropped its final match of the season 3-0 (30-22, 30-18, 30-11) at Lehigh on Friday night.

Sophomore Heidi Olichwier (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) set up the Lafayette (3-27, 0-14) attack with a game-high 27 assists. The front line of Caroline Eshman (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) and Erin Brune (Pasadena, Calif./Mayfield) paced the Leopards offense. Eshman notched nine kills to go along with 15 digs, and Brune had eight kills and 10 digs.

Nine players recorded kills for the Mountain Hawks (20-12, 10-4). Lisa Furusawa led Lehigh with 19 assists, three kills and two block assists.

Overall, Lafayette made great progress in 2002 under the tutelage of first year head coach Terri Dadio Campbell. The Leopards won three matches, the most since 1998.
