EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette freshman defensive back Larry Johnson (Waldorf, Md./West Lake/Wyoming Seminary) was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for his performance in the Leopards' 42-13 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.

Making his second start of the season, Johnson led the Leopard (6-5, 4-2) defense with five tackles, including one for a one-yard loss. He spearheaded a defensive effort that limited Holy Cross to 61 total rushing yards and just 201 yards of total offense.

Johnson also starred on special teams, tackling the Patriot League's top punt returner Ari Confesor for a two-yard loss late in the third quarter. He also returned the game-opening kickoff 25 yards, which set up a 10-play 63-yard touchdown drive for the Leopards.

Johnson ranks first on the Leopards in kickoff returns with 23 for 464 yards, which averages to 20.2 yards per return. He also leads the Leopard freshmen in tackles with 42 total stops.

Lafayette closes out its season when Lehigh visits Fisher Field on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the 138th meeting of college's most-played football rivalry.
