EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette fencing team hosted a four-team meet vs. St. John's University, Johns Hopkins University and Cornell University on Feb. 3. The Leopards managed a win over St. John's University 19-8 but lost to Johns Hopkins (21-6) and Cornell (18-9).

Lafayette took the foil (7-2) vs. St. John's. Mike McFadden (Landsdowne, Del./Monsignor Bonner) led the Leopards with three wins. Lafayette also claimed the sabre event (9-0). Corey Garner (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) and Tom Gauntner (Allentown, Pa. /Central Catholic), both led the Leopards with three wins each.

The Leopards managed to capture the sabre against Cornell (6-3) and Johns Hopkins (5-4).

The fencing team will return to action on Feb. 9 in a five-team match up vs. Drew University, NJIT, Stevens Tech and Army at NJIT.
