EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette football team implemented its two-minute offense during this morning's practice at Metzgar Fields. Head coach Frank Tavani said most of the plays are installed and the Leopards are preparing for Sunday's intrasquad scrimmage.
"We'll map it all out so everyone gets an equal opportunity on Sunday," Tavani said. "We have some people we want to look at more in depth and make sure that they get enough reps. We want to know what direction we're going because come next week when classes begin, we'll start preparing specifically for Monmouth."
The Leopards' full squad hit the field at 7 a.m. for a shortened 90-minute practice due to the College's freshmen orientation. The upperclassmen will practice again this afternoon at 4 p.m.
Saturday marks the last day of double sessions. The Leopards are scheduled for a full squad practice at 7 a.m. and then a workout with just the upperclassmen at 4 p.m. because of freshmen orientation.
Preseason camp concludes Aug. 25 with a 9 a.m. intrasquad scrimmage at Fisher Field. The Leopards open the 2002 season Sept. 7 when they host Monmouth at 1 p.m. at Fisher Field.
