EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette football team concentrated on third-down situations during this morning's practice at Metzgar Fields. Head coach Frank Tavani said the Leopards are excited about tomorrow's intrasquad scrimmage.

"We're looking forward to playing game situations with officials and also getting the team onto Fisher Field," Tavani said. "We hope to get everyone on film and do some final evaluations."

The Leopards' full squad hit the field at 7 a.m. for a shortened 90-minute practice due to the College's freshmen orientation. The upperclassmen will practice again this afternoon at 4 p.m.

Today is the last day of double sessions. Preseason camp concludes Aug. 25 with a 9 a.m. intrasquad scrimmage at Fisher Field. The Leopards open the 2002 season Sept. 7 when they host Monmouth at 1 p.m. at Fisher Field.
