EMMITSBURG, Md. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette earned its first victory of the season, downing Mount St. Mary's 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Lafayette (1-1) struck first with Kerrie Kiley scoring her first of two goals on a header from Miriam Habeeb at the 7:38 mark of the first half.
Senior Cheryl Christianson scored back-to-back goals at 18:03 and 48:05 to put the Leopards ahead, 3-0. Katie Morton, Katie Fina and Briana Rinchiuso collected assists on the goals.
Kiley then took a pass from Kati Kochersperger for the Leopards' final goal of the contest.
For Mount St. Mary's, Leshia Jones scored the team's only goal with less than two minutes remaining in the game.
The goalkeeper trio of Ashley Wesmiller, Marissa Mullins and Blair Boehm combined for three saves.
The Leopards play Wagner on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in their season-opening game at Metzgar Field.
