Lafayette Golf Debuts at Cornell/Colgate Invitational

HAMILTON, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette golf team wrapped up its first competition of the fall with a 15th-place finish on Sunday at the Colgate Invitational held at Seven Oaks Golf Course.

Mike Aarts led the way for the Leopards with a two-day score of 154 (77-77). He finished tied for 27th in the 112-golfer field.

Josh Shepard (77-83-160) placed tied for 53rd followed by Sean McMonagle (83-79-162) who tied for 65th, Brad Rock (81-82-163) who tied for 73rd and Tom Hennessey (85-84-169) who ended in 99th.

Binghamton's Joe Kunz was the individual medalist and he helped lead his squad to a first-place finish. Kunz won the first hole of a sudden death playoff and finished with a 146.

Lafayette returns to action on Saturday at the Bucknell Invitational.
