Michael Aarts (Pound Ridge, N.Y) finished eigth overall with a score of 76 to lead the Lafayette Golf team to a sixth place finish at the end of the first day of competition at Lehigh's Don Mershon Classic, held at Indian Valley Country Club.

Jeremiah O'Neill (North Andover, Ma.) finished seven-over in a seven way tie for 21st place overall. Paul Burke (Andover, Ma.) finished the day with a score of 80 while Garett Copp (Mechanic Falls, Me.) and Bradley Rock (Smithtown, N.Y.) finished with rounds of 84 and 88 respectively.

The final round of the Don Mershon Classic will take place on Monday, Oct. 13.
