BETHPAGE, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Michael Aarts and Paul Burke both finished with two day scores of 147 to tie for seventh place, leading the Lafayette golf team to a third place finish at Hofstra's Fall Invitational held at Bethpage State Park on Friday and Saturday.
Jeremiah O'Neill finished 14th with a two day score of 150 and Bradley Rock was tied for 17th with shooting a two day final score of 151. Rounding out the Lafayette scorers was Derek Downing, tying for 36th with a two day score of 156.
The hosting team of Hofstra took the team title with a score of 590, led by Blake Russell who was the top overall finisher with a score of 138 for the tournament.
Long Island University-Brooklyn was second overall with a score of 594. The University of Delaware and Quinnipiac University rounded out the top five teams with scores of 600 and 602 respectively.
The Hofstra Invitational was the Leopard golf team's final tournament of the fall season. The team will be back in action in the spring, playing in the George Washington Invitational at Swan Point on March 26 and 28.
