The Moss Chronicle

Sept. 30, 2003

This past weekend was definitely a big win for our team. I know the last thing our team wanted was an open weekend the week before. It felt like preseason camp the last two weeks and everyone knows how I feel about camp. But, the best way to get over a rough two weeks is by playing like we did on Saturday.

All week we heard about how great Princeton's defensive line was, especially their defensive ends. And they were very good. But it didn't matter. We were going to win that football game by running the football and not turning the ball over. That's exactly what we did. If we do that consistently this year, I truly feel there is not a team on the schedule that we cannot beat. I'm definitely looking forward to playing Georgetown because it gets us back into league play and hopefully we continue playing with the same confidence we did last week.

My shout out of the week goes to Heather McClelland and Emily Hoffman for holding down Lafayette women's lacrosse for so long and dominating the Patriot League while they were here. Hopefully the football team can bring home one of those trophies.
