Lafayette Golf Team Competes in ECAC Championship

The Lafayette men's golf team tied for 12th overall in the ECAC Championships, held at Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, N.Y. The tournament, hosted by Colgate, was originally set for Saturday, but was pushed back to Sunday because of poor weather conditions.

Binghamton took the team title with a score of 298. Hartford was second with 307 and Boston College was third with a score of 308.

Bradley Rock (Smithtown, N.Y.) was the top finisher for Lafayette, scoring 78 to end in a six-way tie for 27th. Michael Aarts (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) finished 39th with a score of 80 while Paul Burke (Andover, Ma.), Jeremiah O'Neill (North Andover, Ma.) and Derek Downing (St. James, N.Y.)all finished with scores of 81, tied for 47th.

Keith Hendrickson of Binghamton was first individually with a score of 70. Mike Murphy of UConn was second with 71 while Sean Donnelly of Long Island was third with 73. Eric Recher of Boston College and Colby Jacobs of Mount St. Mary's rounded out the top five, tied with scores of 74.

The Leopard golf team will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Hofstra Invitational, held at Bethpage Black State Park on Long Island.
