Leopard Golfers Finish 11th At UNC-Pembroke Tournament

LUMBERTON, N.C. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's golf team finished 11th at the UNC-Pembroke Tournament after recording a team score of 321 in today's second and final round at the par-72, 6,578-yard Pincrest Country Club.

Lafayette's Jeremiah O'Neill carded a 76 for the second straight day to finish at 152 and in a tie for 24th place. Mike Aarts, the Leopards' first-round leader with a 74, followed up today with an 84 for a two-day total of 158. Garett Copp was the only other Leopard to score in the 70s both rounds, carding a pair of 79s to finish in a tie for 46th place along with Aarts. Rounding out Lafayette's scores were Brad Rock with a 77-82--159 to tie for 50th place and Jesse Morgan with an 88-85--173 to tie for 67th place.

North Greenville College won the team title with a two-day score of 589, just 13 strokes over par. Brian Hollowell of Longwood University was the tournament medalist, finishing at one-over 145.

The Leopards return to the greens on Thursday at the Susquehanna University Invitational.
