Lafayette Golfers Finish Fourth at Patriot League Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette placed four golfers in the top 20 to finish in fourth place at the Patriot League Championships on Sunday at the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. Following the tournament, first-year head coach Jim Hutnik was voted Patriot League Coach of the Year by his peers.

Bradley Rock led the way for the Leopards' best finish in the 13-year history of the tournament, carding a final round of 76 to finish with an individual score of 230 (80-74-76). He finished in a two-way tie for 11th place. Michael Aarts finished in 13th (77-80-74-231) followed by Jeremiah O'Neill in 14th place (81-77-75-233).

Derek Downing placed 20th with an individual score of 237 (85-74-78-237). Garett Copp ended in 22nd (77-81-80-238) and Michael Troxell placed 37th (86-84-81-251) in the 48-golfer field.

Navy claimed the top three individual spots with Brian Crum leading the way. Crum fired a final round 68 to finish four-under par for the tournament (72-72-68-212). Billy Hurley (73- 67-75-215) finished second and Nick Rogers third (77-72-74-223). Navy won the team title with a score of 878, followed by Lehigh (909), Army (916), Lafayette (923), Bucknell (938), American (941), Colgate (979) and Holy Cross (1007).
