COLONIE, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's men's soccer team suffered its second straight setback, dropping a 1-0 decision to Albany in a non-league match on Wednesday.
The Leopards (4-2-1 overall) controlled play most of the match, holding a 23-9 edge in shots and 9-4 advantage in corner kicks. Lafayette fired three shots on goal in the final 20 seconds, but Albany goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul turned away all three to preserve the shutout.
Albany freshman Yan Gbolo scored the lone goal of the match at the 14:33 mark. His shot deflected off the cross bar and down into the net.
Lafayette returns to action on Saturday, hosting Monmouth at 7 p.m.
