Lafayette Golf Team Finishes Third at Colgate Invitational

Freshman Paul Burke (Andover, Ma.) shot a 147 to help lead the Lafayette golf team to a third place finish at the Colgate Invitational held at Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, N.Y. on September 5 and 7. The team had a final score of 598, which put them in third behind first place Binghamton (584) and second place Loyola (598).

Burke was the top finisher for the Leopards on Day 2, shooting a 73 for the round. Sophomore Michael Aarts (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) was the next Lafayette scorer, finishing in a seven-way tie for 21st place with a two-day score of 150.

Junior Jeremiah O'Neill (North Andover, Ma.) finished the weekend with a two-day total of 151 and senior Bradley Rock finished with a 152. Senior Derek Downing (St. James, N.Y.) rounded up the Lafayette scoring with a two-day total of 160.

Lehigh, American, Iona, Bucknell, Concord, Rochester, and Duquesne rounded out the top ten finishers.

The Leopard golf team will be back in action Friday and Saturday September 12 and 13 and Bucknell University's Fall Inivitational.
