BETHPAGE, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Senior Jeremiah O'Neill (Newburyport, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover) posted a two-day score of 151 to tie for 11th place and lead the Lafayette golf team at the Hofstra Fall Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The event was held on the Bethpage Red Course.

O'Neill entered Saturday's action in a tie for 22nd place with a 76, and his final-round score of 75 was nearly good enough to move O'Neill into the top 10.

Junior Mike Aarts (Pound Ridge, N.Y./Fox Lane) and freshman Brandon Mitchel (Port Jefferson, N.Y./Earl L. Vandermeulen) both used a 78-77 for a score of 155, placing them in a tie for 33rd.

Senior Garett Copp equaled O'Neill's opening round of 76 but shot an 81 on Saturday to finish 41st. Sophomore Billy Simmermacher had a two-day score of 165.

Lafayette placed eighth of 13 teams. There were 67 golfers entered in the field.
