EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Senior midfielder Victor Krasij (Avon, Conn./Avon) was honored as an All-Patriot League First Team selection, and senior defender Nathan Jolly (Northumberland, England/Coquet) earned placement on the second team, it was announced on Thursday.
Midfielder Scott Hawkins (Whippany, N.J./Whippany Park) collected the Co-Rookie of the Year, along with Daniel Newell of Army.
Krasij, a co-captain of the 2004 Leopards team, scored four goals and assisted on four others and ranks third on the squad with 12 points. The midfielder scored a goal in both of Lafayette's matches, a pair of 2-1 wins, in the Puma Soccer Classic to garner MVP distinction.
A Mathematics and Economics major, Krasij has been a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. His career totals include 10 goals and six assists, while starting 61 of 70 matches.
Jolly also served as captain and netted three goals and had three assists, matching last season's totals, from his spot at defender. He has helped the Leopards post a 1.09 goals against average in 2004.
The senior scored the game-winning goal to give Lafayette a 2-1 win over Rhode Island and put his team ahead 2-1 on Nov. 6 against American. The Leopards will play American in the Patriot League semifinals on Friday, Nov. 12.
Jolly is an Economics and Business major who has also earned recognition as an Academic All-District II selection in 2004.
Hawkins was a key component of the Lafayette attack as a freshman, scoring five goals to tie for the team lead to go with three assists. He scored two goals in his third collegiate match, a 4-0 win over Appalachian State, and scored the game-winning goal against Rider in the Leopards' next match.
The midfielder scored against Bucknell and assisted on the game's only goal as Lafayette shut out Navy, 1-0, in Patriot League play.
Lafayette, the defending league champion and No. 4 seed in this year's tournament, will play host American on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with a shot at playing in the final on the line. That championship game will be played at noon on Sunday against the winner of the Bucknell-Lehigh matchup.
