Volleyball Finishes 2004 Campaign at American

WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette closed its volleyball season on Saturday afternoon at American, with the Eagles coming away with a 3-0 victory on Senior Day.

American (21-5, 14-0) recorded 66 kills and just three errors while hitting .600 for the match. Natacha Cornaz led the Eagles with 20 kills. Erin Allgaier and Cutrina Biddulph had 11 and 10, respectively. Courtney Mulford registered 43 assists.

Freshman Michaela Donohue had nine kills and seven digs for Lafayette.

Sophomore Veronica Canto-Ponce posted six kills while playing in one game to finish the year as the Patriot League leader in kills per game with 4.49. She moved into third place on Lafayette's career list with 821 kills through two seasons.

Heidi Olichwier finishes her career with 3,144 assists, which places her sixth all-time in the Patriot League record book.

Lafayette's 2004 season concludes with a 15-14 record and 5-9 within the league. The Leopards will return six of their seven starters for next year's campaign.
