Lafayette Fencing Competes at NCAA Regionals

MADISON, N.J. (www.lafayette.edu) - Six Lafayette fencers, the largest Leopard contingent in several years, competed at the NCAA Regionals at Drew University on Saturday.

Freshman Bobby Boguski (Bellevue, Wash.) turned in the best performance of the day, claiming 14th in the epee competition. Dave Watrous (Belle Mead, N.J./Whitefield, Academy) took 25th in the epee.

Lafayette also had two competitors in each of the other two weapons. Andrew Thomas (Vienna, Va./James Madison) and Tom Gauntner (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) took 22nd and 26th, respectively, in sabre, while Brendan O'Dea (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and Mark Lodato (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) finished 24th and 26th, respectively, in foil.
