WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.lafayette.edu) -The Lafayette men's golf team traveled to Washington, D.C. to open up the spring season at the George Washington Invitational at the Swan Point Country Club.
The team finished 18th, paced by junior Jeremiah O'Neill's two-day total of 156. O'Neill finished tied for 43rd overall after shooting a 82 on day one and a 74 on day two.
Senior Bradley Rock finished tied for 55th overall with a two-day total of 158. Michael Aarts (76th, 163), Derek Downing (96th, 169) and David Rahal (119th, 178) also competed for the Leopards.
George Washington took the top team spot with a total score of 596. Princeton, Temple, IUPUI and Longwood University rounded out the top five teams.
Lehigh's Nam-Kyu Park finished first overall with a two-day score of 138. George Washington's Brian Carroll was second while Lee Lyon of Skidmore and Andrew Westmoreland of High Point filled the top four spots. Six golfers tied for the fifth place position.
The Lafayette golf team will be back in action on April 3-4 as they travel to Annapolis, Md. to compete in the U.S. Naval Academy Inviational.
