ANNAPOLIS, Md. (www.lafayette.edu) -Paul Burke shot a two day total of 158 to lead the Leopard golfers to an 18th place team finish at the Navy Spring Invitational, held at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course.
Burke shot a 6-over 77 on the first day of play, followed by an 81 shot second round to finish tied for 47th place overall.
Jeremiah O'Neill was the second Lafayette finisher, ending with a two-day total of 158 to tie for 56th place overall.
Michael Aarts (T-60, 160), Bradley Rock (T-88, 165) and Garrett Copp (T-95, 167) also competed for the Leopards.
Johnson and Wales University (Fla.) took the overall team title with a two-day score of 603. Loyola and Towson tied for second, while Methodist College and Navy rounded out the top five teams.
Binghamton's Joe Kunz finished first individually, shooting a 1-over 143. Towson's Billy Wingerd was second, followed by Johnson and Wales Michael Welch, Navy's Billy Hurley and Loyola's Jeff O'Brien.
The Lafayette golfers will be back in action on April 9-10 as they host 20 other teams in the Lafayette Golf Tournament at Center Valley Golf Club in Center Valley, Pa.
