Football to Scrimmage in Fisher Field on Wednesday

Aug. 23, 2004

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - With the clock ticking closer and closer to the season-opener with Marist on Sept. 4, Leopard football fans can get an early glimpse of the 2004 squad during Wednesday's intrasquad scrimmage at Fisher Field. The scrimmage, free and open to the public, will serve as the Leopards' lone practice on Wednesday and could help decide who wins a number of position battles on both sides of the ball. The coaching staff will script the entire session, which will include various conditions for both the offense and defense, including down-and-distance, red zone and goal line situations. The Leopards will take the field at 1:30 p.m., with everyone on the roster getting reps throughout the scrimmage. Lafayette is currently in its second week of two-a-days and will continue alternating between single and double sessions through Sunday. The fall semester begins at Lafayette on Aug. 30, coinciding with the opening of the team's game-week preparations for Marist.
