Lafayette fells Howard, 3-0, to move to 5-3

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Freshman Lauren Dalsky had five kills in the first game and classmate Michaela Donohue put down eight kills in the third game as Lafayette (5-3) defeated Howard, 3-0, in the Leopards' second match of the Lafayette tournament.

The Leopards recorded 17 kills against just three errors in the first game to win 30-21. With the score knotted at 22 in game two, Lafayette closed with an 8-2 run to go up two games to none. Lafayette claimed the decisive game three, 30-23.

Donohue led Lafayette with 13 kills, while Shannon Fisher had 11 kills and five blocks and Veronica Canto-Ponce contributed 10 kills. Senior setter Heidi Olichwier posted 35 assists for the second straight match.

Lafayette will play Fairleigh Dickinson at 4 p.m. at the Kirby Sports Center.
