LEWISBURG, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's golf team tied Fairleigh Dickinson in the opening day of the Bucknell Fall Invitational held Friday, Sept. 16 at the Bucknell Golf Club.
Lafayette finished with a combined 317 on the par-70 course, placing them tied with the Knights for 17th. The 6,253-yard course features narrow fairways and small greens, demanding accurate shots.
Senior Tom Palmer and junior Kyle Manjuck led the way for Lafayette, as both finished the day at eight-over-par, identical rounds of 40 on the front nine and 38 on the back.
Freshmen Kenneth Suarez and Anoop Shah ended the day with rounds of 80 and 81, respectively, while sophomore Chris Johnston finished with an 87.
Only the top four golfers contributed to the team score.
The conclusion of the invite will take place Saturday, Sept. 17.
