ITHACA, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's golf team competed in its third tournament of the fall season, clinching 12th at the Cornell University Fall Invitational on Sept. 24-25 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.
Freshman Anoop Shah was the Leopards' low-man, turning in a 232 (76, 78, 78) performance for his best on the year. The California native tied for 31st overall.
Sophomore Brandon Mitchel (79, 77, 82) and junior Billy Simmermacher (81, 76, 81) followed up with a 52nd-place finishes, both recording 238 overall.
Another pair of on Lafayette's roster tied for 60th, as senior Tom Palmer (76, 78, 89) and rookie Kenneth Suarez (79, 82, 82) ended the weekend with a 243.
Saint Joseph's walked away with the title out of the Atlantic 10, highlighted by a new course record from Billy Stewart on Saturday. Stewart shot a 63 on the par-72, 6,859-yard course.
The Leopards return to action as they travel to Monmouth on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Tee-time is set for 1:30 p.m. at Deal Country Club.
