Lafayette Golf Wraps Up Fall Schedule at Don Mershon Classic

TELFORD, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette placed eighth at the Don Mershon Classic, held Sunday at Monday at Indian Valley Country Club. The Leopards were led by Dave Rahal, who finished tied for 19th in the field.

Rahal followed up an opening day 80 with a 79 to finish 15-over par on the par 72, 6,859-yard course. Brandon Mitchel was two strokes off Rahal's pace, as he fired a 78 on Sunday before posting an 83 to tie for 24th.

Matt Ehrlich (85-81, t-36th), Pat Gallagher (83-84, t-38th) and Kyle Manjuck (95-84, t-51st) also competed for the Leopards.

Lafayette's first-day total of 326 was good for seventh of the 11 schools that participated. The Leopards combined to shoot a 327 on Monday for a two-day score of 653.

With the fall competition schedule complete, Lafayette will look ahead to its spring trip to the PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The trip will coincide with the College's spring break next semester.
