BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - A 3-0 sweep of St. Francis increased the Lafayette women's volleyball team's win streak to three-straight. The Leopards recorded their ninth victory of the season heading into a weekend of Patriot League play.
Freshmen Katrina Racibarskas and Kayly Elmer had solid matches, with Racibarskas recording a match-high 18 digs and Elmer leading both teams with 18 kills. Sophomore Ashton Rossi finished with 13 assists while junior Megan Carter added 11.
Lafayette did not allow the Terriers to score more than 20 points in either of the three matches as the Leopards posted 30-14, 30-20 and 30-20 wins. Lafayette also had eight blocks in the game, including three block assists from junior Ainhoa Barturen. Senior Maura Kelly also had six service aces on the night.
The win over St. Francis extended the Leopards win streak to three matches dating back to a 3-0 win over Delaware State on Sept. 26. This is their longest win streak of the season and with a 9-10 overall record, Lafayette stands just one win away from an even .500 record.
The Leopards resume Patriot League action this weekend when they host Army on Friday at 7 p.m. and Holy Cross on Saturday at 2 p.m.
