Lafayette Golf Competes at George Washington Invitational

BETHANY BEACH, Del. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette golf team opened its spring tournament schedule with the George Washington Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Bear Trap Dunes Golf Course on the Delaware Shore.

The Leopards finished 23rd out of the 24 teams that competed on the par 72, 6,834-yard layout. The University of Pennsylvania took the team championship by three strokes over Longwood University, while Kyle Morris of Seton Hall was the medalist with a three-under par 141.

Senior Dave Rahal (80-82) and freshman Matt Ehrlich (81-81) were Lafayette's top finishers as both student-athletes carded a 162 for the weekend.

Senior Kyle Manjuck posted the low score for the Leopards on Saturday with a 77 and finished with a 164. Senior Billy Simmermacher (79-86) and freshman Reed Valutas (82-84) turned in cards of 165 and 166, respectively.
