REHOBOTH BEACH, Del - Lafayette golf competed in the 36-hole Rehoboth Beach Invitational hosted by George Washington University Sept. 23-24. Rookie Tyler Ostrovsky was the Leopards' top finisher as the team placed eighth with a score of 610. Ostrovsky shot two rounds of 75 at the 71-par Kings Creek County Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del. The Engineering major tied for 16th to finish in the top-20 of the field.
Classmate Clay Solomon also had a solid outing, shooting a 74 in the first round. Solomon went on to tie for 22nd with a second round of 77. In his first outing with the golf team, rookie Andrew Carlins finished the invitational with a score of 153 (74+79) and placed 30th.
Senior Brandon Mitchel and junior Anoop Shah placed 37th and 40th, respectively. Mitchel shot an opening round of 76 and Shah had a 78 the first day. Both shot 80 in the second round.
The fall season continues for the men's golf team when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y. to compete Saturday and Sunday in the Cornell Fall Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.
