Box Score

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette won the final three sets to record a 3-1 win over archrival Lehigh in Patriot League volleyball action on Friday night. Three Leopards finished with double-digit kill totals en route to their fourth league victory of the season and 10th overall. Lafayette also gains a split with Lehigh in the season series.

Sophomore Katrina Racibarskas led the team in kills for the second straight league match with 14. Racibarskas finished just one dig shy of a double-double with nine. Classmate Kayly Elmer added 13 kills and junior Cara Mulholland recorded 11. Freshman Andrea Duvall had one of her most solid performances of the season, finishing with five service aces, including the match-winner in the fourth set.

The first set was tightly contested from start to finish as no team held more than a four point advantage during the course of play. The score was tied late at 23-all before the Mountain Hawks scored the final two points with the winning point coming on an attacking error by Mulholland.

The Leopards (10-15, 4-6) responded with a strong showing in the second set in the form of a 25-20 win. Lafayette trailed 4-1 to open play but tied it at six on a kill by freshman Alana Taylor. A Mulholland kill gave Lafayette an 8-7 lead and the team would not trail again. The Mountain Hawks (8-16, 3-7) closed within one (18-17) but Lafayette won seven of the final 10 to close out the win.

That momentum carried over into the third set which saw the Leopards come out on top of another 25-20 decision. The score was tied 19-all before Mulholland put her team ahead for good with a kill. An attacking error by Mo McReynolds ended the set.

Lafayette saved its most impressive victory for last, capturing an 11-point win (25-14). Unlike the first three sets, the Leopards led from the beginning and Duvall gave her team a critical conference victory with a service ace for the final point of the night.

Lafayette plays its final non-league match of the season on Wednesday when the Leopards host St. Francis (N.Y.) at 8 p.m.
