ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Lafayette dropped two places after the first day of competition to place 14th at the Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, Md. Rookie Tyler Ostrovsky finished one over par at the Naval Academy Golf Course on the first day and finished eight over par on Sunday (72+78=150).

Ostrovsky led the Leopards in a four-way tie at 23rd. Freshman Erik Adolfsson shaved five strokes of his first 18 holes, tying for 47th with a score of 155 (80+75). Junior Steve Melnic one-stroke (76+80=156) behind Adolfsson and was in 57th with five other golfers.

The Navy gold team took the title after lighting and a tornado watch eliminated the possibility of a playoff with Iona. The Midshipmen won it by a two-strokes after the fifth man's score on each team was compared for the tiebreaker. On Tuesday, the Lafayette golf team will participate in the Lehigh Valley Cup at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.
