WASHINGTON, D.C. - A record-breaking performance by the American volleyball squad resulted in a 3-0 loss for Lafayette. The Eagles tied their single-match record for blocks assists with 30 to improve to 6-3 in Patriot League play.

American (12-11, 6-3) won the sets by 25-11, 25-19 and 25-7 scores.

Cara Mulholland again led the Leopards (12-10, 3-6) in kills with six while adding 11 digs. Ashton Rossi had 15 assists.

The Eagles opened the first set on a 7-0 run and cruised to the 25-11 win.

The second set was closer as Lafayette pulled within three points (19-16) late in the action, but American held on for the six-point win (25-19).

American controlled the third and final set, giving up only seven points to the Leopards.

Lafayette will host Patriot League rival Lehigh on Friday at 7 p.m.
