Former Lafayette head football coach Kenneth Bunn, who was the Leopards' coach for the 100th Lafayette-Lehigh game, passed away on Thursday, March 12. Bunn, 80, coached the Leopards from 1963-66.
On Nov. 21, 1964, Bunn was on the sideline for the 100th game in the most played rivalry in college football, one that ended in a 6-6 tie against Lehigh. The Leopards closed out Bunn's final season on College Hill with a 16-0 shutout of rival Lehigh.
The Salem, Ohio native and Penn State graduate also spent time as a football coach at Juniata College and West Shore High School.
Bunn was a former member of the Easton Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Janice Stevenson, son Thomas, daughters Pamela, Sue Francisco and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at the Ashton Funeral Home on 14th and Northampton Streets in Easton. Calling hours will be held from 1:30-2 p.m. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Pl., Bethlehem, Pa. 18017.
