OCEAN CITY, Md. - The Lafayette golf team finished fourth at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Carter Rufe led the way in the Leopards' season opener, notching a top-10 finish.

Rufe rebounded in his second day of action to tie for seventh with a 9-over par 153. After sinking an 80 in the first round, he finished two strokes behind the daily low round with a 73 (1 over par).

Rob Robertson, who joined the team in the off season as a transfer from Purdue, sank an even 72 in the second round to earn 13th place with a 10-over-par 154. Chip Culp (159), Erik Adolfsson (165) and Cody Sumpter (169) rounded out the group.

The Leopards return to the greens this weekend at the Monmouth Invitational in Lakewood, N.J.
