BOSTON, Mass. - Sophomore goalie Lauren Smedley made 12 saves in a 3-0 loss against Northeastern on Sunday afternoon. Leopards evened their to 3-3 for the season as the Huskies improve to 4-2.
The Leopards were able to get off six shots and four of them on goal. Sophomore Jill Dozier and junior Angela CampoBasso both fired off two shots for Lafayette with Stephanie Berday and Melissa Appelstein chipped in one each. Northeastern goalie Michelle Sopko made three saves against the Leopards in the 90 minutes of play.
After a scoreless first half, the Huskie's Greta Samuelsdottir beat the Lafayette defenders to score the first goal of the game. Less than a minute later, Samuelsdottir found the ball again and chipped in a shot from the top of the box, the Huskie's take a 2-0 lead.
Northeastern's final goal came in the 57th minute rebound goal by Veronica Napoli. The Leopards host NJIT at Oaks Stadium on Friday at 7 p.m.
