Cross Country Participates in Lehigh Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Lafayette Cross Country team ran in the Lehigh Invitational Friday with the men taking second-place honors, and senior William Volkmann crossing the line in third place.

Volkmann finished with a time of 18:30.83, just over six seconds behind the leader, Tyler Mueller from Lehigh. Sophomore Andrew Haff had an impressive showing, finishing 21st with a time of 19:26.21. Classmate Andrew Warshauer took 39th, crossing the line at 19:55.90.

Freshman Thomas Day held the 29th position with a time of 19:41.45, while senior Chris Parker rounded out the pack finishing 47th at 20:10.8.

On the women's side, junior co-captain Rose Willey led Lafayette with a time of 23:24.42, good enough for 12th place. Freshman Stephanie Benko ran a 23:54.23 mark and finished 27th. The women took sixth place as a team.

The Cross Country schedule continues Sept. 14 as the Leopards head back to Bethlehem for the Lafayette/Lehigh Dual Meet at 5 p.m.
