Lafayette was led by Brianne Giangiobbe and Karissa Ciliento with eight kills apiece. Samantha Volk handed out 23 assists, while Lauren Pisauro had a team-high 14 digs. The Crusaders were led by Alex Aycock's match-high 11 kills.
The first set was all Holy Cross, as the Crusaders led throughout and won the opening game 25-7. In set two, the Leopards ran out to a 6-3 lead courtesy of a pair of kills from Ciliento, and single kills from Giangiobbe, Volk, Katy Rooney and Danielle Towslee.
The Crusaders bounced back and took an 11-7 lead later in the set. Jet Manzi tied set two at 21 on a kill from a pass from Volk. Holy Cross took four of the next five points to close out set two and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
In the final set, the Leopards found themselves down early, 10-3, but Lafayette battled its way back into the game. The Maroon and White got within four, 13-9, after a Manzi service ace. That would be as close as the Leopards got, as Holy Cross closed out the match, 25-16.
The Leopards return to action Friday night for their annual Dig Pink Match against rival Lehigh.
